International Conference on Functional Programming (ICFP)

Most Influential ICFP Paper Award

Each year a "Most Influential" ICFP paper is chosen and an presentation is made at ICFP. More details about this award and past winning papers can be found here. SIGPLAN also makes several other awards including an "Outstanding Dissertation Award." Please consider making a nomination for one of these awards.  More details about the SIGPLAN awards can be found here.

ICFP Steering Committee

Each year, at or soon after the conference itself, three steering committee members will retire and three new ones will join. Two of the new members will be the General Chair and Program Chair for the following year's ICFP conference; the third new member is a member at large (serving a four year term).

The steering committee is chaired by the General Chair of the previous ICFP conference.

Efforts will be made to ensure that the various "stakeholder communities'' are represented on the steering committee, particularly:

  • Paradigms: notably Lisp, ML, lazy graph reduction (e.g., Haskell), dataflow (e.g., Id).
  • Nationalities.
The intention here is a positive one: we want to ensure that each community feels that ICFP is "their conference too'', so that they will come, mix, and learn from each other.
