OOPSLA '96 Workshops

Chair: Linda Northrop, Software Engineering Institute

Overview of Workshops

Workshop Addendum Guidelines

The workshop program for OOPSLA '96 includes a large number of workshops that address a variety of interesting challenges facing object technologists. Workshops provide a forum for research and practitioner experts to meet and discuss focused issues in an atmosphere that fosters interaction, exchange, and problem solving. Workshops also provide the opportunity for representatives of a technical community to coordinate efforts and establish collective plans of action.

To ensure a sufficiently small group for effective interaction, workshop attendance is managed by the organizer(s). Prospective attendees must (typically) submit short position papers outlining their opinions on an aspect of the workshop topic. Participants will be chosen based on the relevance of their position paper to the workshop theme.

Workshop presentations are held at the discretion of the workshop organizers, but all attendees are expected to contribute to the discussions; ample time is allotted for questions, thoughts, and answers. After the workshop, the organizers are responsible for reporting results to the object community via a short paper in the Addendum to the Proceedings.

Workshop organizers and participants must register for the conference for at least the day of their workshop. Sunday workshop participants should plan to check in at the registration desk at the convention center by Saturday evening; Monday workshop participants should check in by Sunday evening.
