demos, posters & tech notes

monday - thursday

Co-Chairs:
Shail Arora, Inca Computer Co.
Ann Patrick, Object Technology International, Inc.

Demonstrations, Posters, and Tech Notes have been grouped together for OOPSLA '98 because they share a common goal: to provide an informal environment in which to introduce topics, research, and the application of object-oriented technology in real-world situations.

Demos, Posters, and Tech Notes provide an opportunity to describe work-in-progress, to display applications of object-oriented technology, to share the unique and interesting technical aspects of your object-oriented projects, tools, or systems, and to elicit feedback from the OO community.

Demos have a brief overview presentation followed by an actual presentation in the form of a running computer program. Demos will be scheduled concurrently with technical sessions on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday.

Posters are displayed on an eight-foot by four-foot corkboard. Posters will be on display at Monday's Welcome Reception, co-resident with their authors, for active, yet informal, question and answer sessions. Subsequently, posters will be on display Tuesday through Thursday in the exhibit hall next to the demos.

Tech Notes are short two page papers published in the pre-addendum, which will be distributed to all conference attendees. Demos and Posters may be published as Tech Notes in the pre-addendum.
