Object Technology International

Here is your invitation to join us in picturesque Vancouver, B.C. for OOPSLA'98. We've done our best to put together an outstanding conference for you to participate in, learn from, and enjoy.

OOPSLA is well-known as the premier conference for object technology, and thus whether you are an object expert or an object novice, OOPSLA has a lot to offer. There are a wide variety of participant-driven workshops; an outstanding offering of tutorials; thought-provoking invited speakers; panels, debates, audience-interactive goldfish bowls; technical papers capturing the latest in both research and in development experiences; posters, demos, and tech notes for late breaking new ideas; a commercial exhibition hall; special programs for academic and industrial educators (the Educator's Symposium), as well as for current and future Ph.D. students (the Doctoral Symposium and the New Ideas Forum); the interactive learning experience of the DesignFest. Co-resident in Vancouver with OOPSLA'98 is an entire second conference: the International Symposium on Memory Management. And, of course, OOPSLA'98 provides unparalleled opportunities to meet and talk to others in the object technology field both in the hallways, in the lounge areas, and at the full array of social events.

I urge you all to come to Vancouver and, unless you are fatally shy, to participate in the DesignFest as simply the best way to meet other object technologists and to see how they use the techniques and technologies.

Additionally, the web site contains a Suggested Readings bibliography. These are books, articles, and papers that our authors, experts, and committees recommend as the key technical publications for understanding today's object technology. We trust that you will find this bibliography a useful resource both before and after you attend OOPSLA'98.
