On-line conference registration is no longer available.
You may register in person in the Vancouver Trade and Convention Centre Lobby (ground floor of the Pan-Pacific Hotel), subject to the availability of space and materials.

To qualify for the special conference rates, your hotel request MUST be made with the housing reservation form and processed through the Advance Group Housing Bureau via mail, fax, or email.

On-line conference registration is no longer available.
On-site registration will be accepted on a first-come, first-served basis, subject to the availability of space and materials.

To qualify for reduced rates, registration forms must be faxed or postmarked by 10 September 1998.
The last date to advance register by fax, mail or on-line is 1 October 1998.

Registration forms must be accompanied by full payment in order to be processed. Incorrect credit card numbers and declined credit are considered no payment and registration will not take place.

In past years, OOPSLA tutorials sold out very early. It is strongly recommended that you register well in advance of the Thursday, 10 September 1998 deadline. Heavy fax traffic is expected on that day, and OOPSLA will not be responsible for forms not received due to busy phone lines.

No telephone registrations will be accepted.   Print and submit the PDF version of the form.  Instructions to complete the conference registration form follow.

What your Registration Includes

Conference registration includes admission into technical sessions, exhibits, Welcome reception, Exhibitors' reception, one Science World ticket, and the Proceedings.

One-Day Conference registration includes admission into technical sessions, exhibits, reception for that day, and a copy of the Proceedings. Wednesday one-day registration does not include the Science World ticket.

Tutorial registration includes admission into the selected tutorial, one copy of the tutorial notes for that session, lunch, the Tutorials Reception on Sunday, and exhibits. You do not have to register for the conference in order to attend tutorials.

Educators' Symposium fee includes admission into the symposium, the Educators' notes, lunch, and exhibits.

Workshop participants must be registered for the workshop day or the full conference, and are invited to the Workshop Reception on Sunday.

Student conference registration includes admission into technical sessions, exhibits, Welcome reception, Exhibitors' reception, and the Proceedings.

Panel participants, Session Chairs and Presenters must register for the conference, or for the day of their panel or presentation.

Exhibits-only badges will be available for $10 on-site.

Confirmation

Confirmation letters will be sent by mail. Please allow up to two weeks for mailed confirmation of your registration. We cannot fax or e-mail confirmations.

Sell-out Policy

All registrations will be processed first-come, first-served, based on date of receipt. On-site registration will be accepted subject to the availability of space and materials. OOPSLA `98 reserves the right to limit conference, tutorials, workshops, Educators' symposium, DesignFest, and social event registrations.

Refunds/Transfers

Cancellations and changes made in writing and faxed or postmarked by 1 October 1998 will be accepted subject to a $50 cancellation fee. Refunds will be made within four weeks of the end of the conference. Cancellations will not be accepted after 1 October 1998. "No shows" are not refundable and are liable for the full registration fee.

Instead of cancelling, your registration may be transferred by giving a colleague a written authorization.
