Proceedings from the Workshops
On July 19-21 in Denver, OOPSLA is sponsoring the second annnual Midyear Conference consisting of three day workshops devoted to Applied Object Technology. These workshops will bring together practitioners to share experiences and issues in the implementation of real world object systems. There will be workshops in Telecommunications, Finance, Insurance/Healthcare, Manufacturing, Transitioning to Object Technology, Java Frameworks, Education and Training in Object Technology, and Implementing Life Cycle Process and Product Models . The goal is to lay the foundation for future expanded meetings at OOPSLA and other vertical application specific conferences. Registration information for the Midyear Workshops is available at Registration, Hotel and Airline Information. . The conference will be held at the Cherry Creek Inn.
This should be an extremely valuable conference for participants because of the focus on real world applications and problems. The three day format will encourage detailed discussions and interactions. The proceedings of the Workshops will be made available on the Web and should provide a useful resource to the object community. Feel free to contact me or the Workshop organizers for more details. To ensure a knowledgeable group for effective interaction, workshop attendance is managed by the organizers. Prospective attendees must (typically)submit short position papers outlining their opinions on an aspect of the workshop topic. The deadline for submissions has been extended. Please contact the workshop organizers if you are interested in participating.

Review-"According to several people who attended last year, this was a very congenial and rewarding conference. The number of people was small, the level of presentations and discourse was high, and the evenings were raucous."
