PLDI'98 Information

1998 ACM SIGPLAN Conference on
Programming Language Design and Implementation

Montreal, Canada, 17-19 June 1998

Welcome to the PLDI '98 home page! Here you will find links to the latest information on the conference, including tutorials and registration.

PLDI '98 provides a forum for researchers and developers to hear about the latest practical and experimental work in the design and implementation of programming languages and compilers. Emphasis will be placed on experimental results and experience with the languages and techniques described. The conference seeks original papers relevant to practical issues concerning the design, development, implementation, and use of programming languages (in contrast to the POPL symposium, which typically seeks papers on foundations).

Among the topics of interest to the conference are:

  • compiler construction
  • program analysis
  • optimizations for traditional and novel architectures
  • intermediate representations
  • storage management and run-time systems
  • implementation of non-traditional languages
  • incremental, interpretive, and interactive methods
  • debugging and related support issues
  • benchmarks and assessment
  • visual programming language design
  • language issues for mobile computing
  • language issues for the Web
  • experimental results on usability of languages and environments
  • design of new programming language and environmental features

  • Important Dates

    Paper Submission

    Registration and Hotel Deadlines

PLDI '98 is sponsored by ACM and SIGPLAN.
